How we memorialize something reflects how we valued it.
The objects that exist to mark that grief- the ones you find when you go looking- don’t do justice to what they were to us.
We’re building Remanē because we believe animals deserve the same kind of beauty that’s usually reserved for people. Not just a paw print on a heart, or a cartoon animal designed for a gift shop shelf.
Remanē. From the Latin remanēre: to remain, to stay, to endure.
A note from our founder
“Remanē started with grief.
When my Doberman, Asterix, died, I went looking for something to hold him that would reflect what he meant to me. His ashes sat for months in the plain wooden box from the vet, because nothing I found felt like enough. So I made him something instead.
We’re building Remanē because we believe the animals we love deserve beauty and meaning in their memorials — and because no one should have to search for a way to keep their loved one close, only to come up short."
