No two animals are alike. No two urns should be either. Each Remanē urn is hand crafted and made to order based on your specifications.
The Figure is the sculptural element at the crown of the urn — modeled from life, capturing the specific proportions and character of a breed rather than a generic silhouette.
Current Figures include the French Bulldog, Retriever, Doberman, Doodle, Shepherd and Husky. We also offer a Flame Figure — a classical symbol of remembrance — for those who prefer something less literal, or whose breed isn't yet available.
New breeds are added regularly. If yours isn't here, get in touch and tell us what you’re looking for.
Each glaze is developed to mirror a specific coat of the animals we know and love. Choose the one that looks most like your loved one, or simply the one that feels right.
From across a room, a Remanē urn reads as a classical object — the kind of thing that belongs on a mantle or a bookshelf without requiring explanation. The detail reveals itself on closer inspection.
This urn was designed around something specific: a daily walk. Not a grand gesture, but the ordinary one. The route you both knew by heart, taken so many times it became a kind of ritual. The thing that structured your day around theirs.
The draped rope encircling the body is modeled on a leash; the weight and drape of it, the way it hangs when it isn't being held.
The rings it drapes from are collar rings; the kind their tags hang from.
The stitching detail around the base follows the construction of a collar; the doubled thread, the punched holes for a clasp.
The vertical lines at the neck of the urn are a quieter detail; reminiscent of a crosswalk, the kind you walked over together.
None of these details announce themselves. They're there for the people who look.
Cast in porcelain, chosen for its density, its smooth finish, and its ability to hold fine surface relief over time. Porcelain does not yellow or chip easily. It is made to last.
Every figure and relief detail has been sculpted individually, and every urn is slip cast by hand using the traditional method.
Because each piece is made to order and fired individually, slight variation from the photographs is inherent to the process. Glaze color, surface texture, and finish will be close to what you see, but distinctly their own.
